Putin calls for careful discussion of retirement age hike
MOSCOW, Jun 15 (PRIME) -- The Russian government has not decide to raise the retirement age yet, and the issue should be discussed very carefully, without fuss and haste, President Vladimir Putin said Thursday during the Direct Line Q&A session.
“I think that this should be treated very carefully. Concerning rumors that the decision has been already made – no. The decision has not been made, but the issue is really being discussed on the expert, government levels,” he said.
The retirement age in Russia is currently 55 years for women and 60 years for men.
